Hi all, Ive been doing a bit of reading about whether a gluten free diet can be beneficial to RA. I'm going to give it a try has anyone else had any experience of this?

Cheers

Hi Heather,

I was advised at the beginning to try wheat/gluten free foods and I must admit I do feel better when having the pasta, bread etc, but more from not feeling bloated. One problem is that it is quite expensive and not a wide range of foods out there. I make all my own soups, use loads of fresh veg and don't use a lot of convenience foods. I was also told that belladonna foods, anything that has a poisonous leaf, and dairy products can have adverse effects. Can't say I keep to all I was told but do try, occasionally!!! The wheat free pasta, I find, is good and I give it to family and friends and they don't realise it is different. Suppose it could be my cooking and they don't like to say.

Anyway good luck with whatever you decide, if like me, I'll give anything a try to see if it helps.

Val
